The B-town crew is back, and we’re talking IU basketball once again. The monster week-long buildup to the Kentucky game takes center stage, as we break down the keys to the game for IU, the starting lineup situation, and the bench situation for this team. We also take Twitter questions, and then spend the last part of the pod talking about what a win would mean in the big scheme of things for IU fandom and the Hoosier program.

On the topic of the Sheehey/Verdell issue, I think it usally won’t matter who starts. However, for this game, I think it does. The beginning minutes of this game are going to be so crucial. It will dictate the entire flow of the game, along with teams’ confidence levels.
I heard somebody say Verdell is more athletic, which I have to respectively disagree with. I think Sheehey’s athleticism and stronger defensive play give the Hoosiers a spark Verdell cannot offer in the beginning minutes.
I think this is a game where your best five players absolutely have to start. Unfortunately for Verdell, I don’t see him in that mix. I think he can still play a vital role in this game, just not as a starter.
The Hoosiers cannot and should not start somebody because they’ve put in 3 solid years of heart. They need to jump on UK early, and in my humble opinion, I think Sheehey gives them the edge they’ll need.
