On this episode of CrimsonCast, we evaluate the recent transfer news, discussing the implications of the departures of Austin Etherington, Jeremy Hollowell, Jonny Marlin, and others. Are these departures just standard operating procedure for a major basketball program, or do they indicate some kind of cultural issue on the team? We also discuss the larger player/roster development issues with losing upperclassmen-to-be, and how the player developmental process seems to be uneven within the program at present.
We also discuss Noah Vonleh’s departure in depth, and talk about his “held back” comments, IU fans’ reactions to his departure, and what he contributed overall to the program. That leads into a discussion of roster management, and concerns over the rather haphazard and unstable nature of the roster at this point.
We finish up with a small amount of football talk, and an overall discussion of the football and basketball programs and the expectations both face going in to next year.
