CrimsonCast is what former WIUS Staff Members create when they leave IU. Most of the CrimsonCast staff spent at least four years at IU (Galen spent 7!), and most of them were active in student sports media. They’ve reunited to provide you with the best and most interesting podcasts, analysis, and opinion relating to the major sports at Indiana University and INDYCAR.

Scott

Scott worked in radio while at IU, on the Sports Staff at WIUS and as a DJ at B97.  He & Galen also took Bob Knight’s CoachingBasketball Class while at IU — they both earned A’s, even though Norm Ellenberger was less interested in talking basketball and more interested in talking about “2 1/2 acres of bass”.  After college, he moved to Houston, Texas where he worked for the Houston Astros and coached basketball at the Middle & High School level.  He currently works as a consultant in the Education Industry and lives in Carmel.  You can reach Scott at Scott@CrimsonCast.com or on Twitter @CrimsonCast.  Scott is the Co-Founder and Editor of CrimsonCast.

Galen

Galen always wondered what would’ve happened if Rob Hodgson hadn’t transferred. Galen spent five years as a professional sportscaster, enjoying the experience of broadcasting such traditional sports as arena football. Galen currently broadcasts Bloomington South games for Action Indiana, and occasionally moonlights as a communication instructor.  Galen can be found on Twitter @CrimsonCast.  Galen is the Co-Founder and Editor of CrimsonCast.

Mike

Mike graduated from IU in 2000 with a degree in Sports Communication. That means he’s way more qualified to discuss IU sports than you. He currently lives in Indianapolis and watches as many IU Basketball, Football, and Soccer games as he can stomach.  Mike can be found on Twitter @Mike_Petry

Shawn

Shawn is currently a sophomore at IU who started writing his blog “Five and Counting” in early 2011. He seems to believe that playing high school basketball equates into understanding more about the game of basketball than anyone else. He also lacks creative writing skills. Sobriety is a rarity when this college student is contributing to the site. You can get to know him more by following him on Twitter: @sburch7.

Matt Z

Matt Z brings a dash of west coast flair to CrimsonCast. A lifelong Angelino, Matt’s expertise lies in soccer analysis, football analysis, and making fun of Missouri and UCLA fans. Matt and Mike make up the “former IDS regular” contingent of the site.

Kyle

Kyle has been writing about college basketball and recruiting for over a decade, and is one of the preeminent bracketologists in today’s new media.
